Reverend Clela Anderson will be honored for her 50th year in ordained ministry on May 7, 2006, at her church, Union Avenue Christian Church, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Clela Anderson was ordained at First Christian Church in Spencer, Iowa, on May 6, 1956. Clela currently serves as chairperson of the Outreach Department at Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis and continues to lead a bible study class at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Madison, Missouri, where she once served as Minister of Christian Education.

Many of you know Clela and her husband Ronald as former missionaries to the Congo (Zaire) in 1957-1962 and again in 1974-1982. Clela served at a girls’ school called Lycee Nsang’ea Ndotsi in Congo (Zaire) and in 1995, a few years after Ronald passed away, Clela went on to serve as chaplain at Inanda Seminary, a girls’ school in South Africa. Others of you may know Clela from UCC and Disciple joint events around the St. Louis area and as a Global Ministries Ministry and Mission Interpreters (MMI).
