Standing with our Partners in Zimbabwe
Dear Partners in Zimbabwe,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is with great faith that we, your brothers and
sisters in the United States, walk with you as you prepare for the elections ahead.
Through our own lived experiences as a emocratic nation, we are aware of the pain and angst that elections can cause and how they can seek to divide a country. In these times, we pray unceasingly, even while at the polls, asking God to provide you and the people of Zimbabwe with peace that surpasses all understanding.

Dear Partners in Zimbabwe,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is with great faith that we, your brothers and sisters in the United States, walk with you as you prepare for the elections ahead. Through our own lived experiences as a Democratic nation, we are aware of the pain and angst
that elections can cause and how they can seek to divide a country. In these t imes, we pray unceasingly, even while at the polls, asking God to provide you and the people of Zimbabwe with peace that surpasses all understanding.
As stated in the Pastoral Letter to the Nation from the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, dated July 2013, “Zimbabwe needs God-fearing and peace-loving leaders”. We are and will continue to be praying with you for nothing short of leaders who are willing to stand up for what is truthful and just. We also agree that this is indeed a “KAIROS” moment! Not only is this a moment in Zimbabwe, but for all who seek the will of God throughout God’s land.
Please know that Rev. Julia Brown-Karimu (Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Division of Overseas Ministries, Co-Executive); Rev. Jim Moos (United Church of Christ, Wider Church Ministries, Co-Executive); and myself, Rev. Sandra Gourdet (Global Ministries, Africa Executive) have all made it our priority to ensure that you have our continued support and partnership throughout this time and beyond. Your request for church es throughout the world to join you in prayer on July 21st 2013 was given serious attention here in the USA. For we, too, believe that “…the God we serve is a God of miracles and is able to create something good out of chaos!”
May God’s Peace Rest upon All of You,
Rev. Sandra R. Gourdet
