Syrian Crisis Expands (with update)
#syria
4.25 million people within Syria are displaced and an additional 1.5 million are registered as refugees in neighboring countries according to the United Nations. 3.1 million children are in need.
Since the onset of the conflict in March, 2011, Global Ministries has supported the efforts of our partners across the region to respond to the crisis. Emergency food packages, hygiene kits, bedding, warm clothes and boots for children and portable stoves have been distributed and psychosocial support and health care is being provided through One Great Hour of Sharing and Week of Compassion. Humanitarian reach includes displaced persons in Syria and refugee communities in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Armenia.
