We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Morse as the new Program Associate for Resource Development. Born and raised in Kirkland, Washington, Tom comes as a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After serving as a fully supported missionary with the Amity Foundation in China for five years, he returned to Indianapolis in 2013 to begin an internship with the Mission Personnel Office where he worked on a wide variety of projects including the redesign of the missionary profiles as well as creating a website and videos for the upcoming Congo Initiative. Tom has a strong background in online communication as a result of his work on a blog focused on human rights issues in China.
Tom noted that “there have been many exciting innovations in international development in the last few years, especially in microfinance and ecological conservation that have been driven by our partners. I am looking forward to working with congregations and individuals who not only want to support these life changing programs, but want to learn about the communities and contexts in which they take place. This position allows me to engage in issues that I am deeply passionate about.”
Tom has a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies and Anthropology. He has been married to his wife, Lynnea, for 3 years. Tom began his new ministry on June 16th, 2013.
